All Day

Category: Bible Reading Plan | Coordinator: Jeanene Hill

TWO CHANCES TO PARTICIPATE:

  • Mother's Day - May 9th
  • Father's Day - June 20th

We will be setting apart time during our services on Mother's Day and Father's Day for Parent/Child Dedication.

WHY THIS DEDICATION SERVICE?

1 Samuel 1:24-28 / Mark 10:14 / Luke 2:21-40

Parent/ Child Dedication services should not be confused with infant baptism. This is not a baby baptism that indicates or assures salvation. It does not make a child a Christian. Every person must exercise personal faith in Christ when they are old enough to understand the Gospel.

In the story of Hannah and Samuel above, we see the practice of dedicating the lives of children to serve the Lord.

A dedication service is more of a spiritual commitment on the part of the parent(s) to provide a Christian environment in which a child can easily come to Christ. This involves praying for the child, teaching he/she God's Word and setting a Christian example.

If you are interested in participating in one of these dedications, please register here.
