WHAT IS WEEKEND LUNCHBOX?

Weekend Lunchbox is a ministry led by Hutto Bible Church. It seeks to help children with food insecure households. "Food insecure household" is a phrase to describe a home with limited or uncertain access to enough nutritious food for all the household members to lead active and healthy lives. Specifically we seek to serve those households with children on free and reduced lunch in Hutto Independent School District.

Currently we serve students at the following elementary schools: Nadine Johnson Elementary, Ray Elementary, and Veterans' Hill Elementary. Typically we provide weekend meals every week to about 110 students.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS ON A REGULAR BASIS TO HELP US PACK LUNCHES. PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING US.

Typically we pack meals every other Thursday, beginning at 6pm. If we have enough volunteers it usually takes us about an hour to complete. We encourage small Bible study groups or families to join in our efforts.

We use a service called VolunteerSpot to keep up with volunteers. You may find this service to be convenient for you as well. If you have questions about being a volunteer contact us.
