Cunduits of Grace

Ephesians 5

Well Ephesians 5 fell perfectly on my day because since I have been married for a month and ten days, I now know a month and ten days worth more than I did before about marriage. It seems like it is just wedding season in general. My best friend got married last weekend, Peyton’s best friend two weekends ago, and my college roommate in a week. So much to celebrate!

I won’t dive in too deep today. All I think I want to say is, maybe we should try and remind ourselves of things like our wedding day or some other joyful time and pass it on. Our divinely gifted happy thought. Our “you can fly, Peter”. As Christians, the majority of the activities in our life should point to Jesus. If we are just anxious frustrated people for the majority of the time, we are sending the wrong message entirely and pointing to someone who is not Jesus. In our marriages, and other close relationships, do we bring joy? Do we pass on joy, peace and grace? Or do we stir up anger, and frustration? Do we put people on edge and make them anxious and worried? Do we forgive?

John Piper says, “God didn’t create us to be cul-de-sacs of his bounty but conduit. No man is complete unless he is conducting grace (like electricity) between God and another person”. We were made to be sharers!

Husbands, Wives, Sons, Daughters, and friends, practically conduct some grace today. No excuses. Be the church. The Fruits of the Spirit (like we’ve been learning in Galatians) are undisguised.
